Presents a method that can be conveniently used to calculate the stress intensity factor for the edge crack of a cold expanded hole. At first, the method for calculating stress intensity factors is described; then the method is applied to an example with known results to verify the present method. For those cold expanded holes with known residual stress distribution, the method can be easily used to obtain the stress intensity factors of a through thickness crack at the edge of a cold expanded hole.
