By discussing the actuality and development trend of marine diesel engine generator as well as analyzing the performance of diesel engine generator asked from the development of watercraft equipment, the type selecting principle and gist are proposed and the type spectrum is established. According to the principle and gist, the mainstream products are analyzed qualitatively and synthetically. The set aggregate which can satisfy the principle is determined. The mathematic model is then established and analyzed quantitatively by using arrangement analysis method. The most appropriate diesel engine generator set can be selected. The method is useful in the type selecting of marine diesel engine generator set.
