A Criticism on Zhou Jingxuan and His Work 《湖海奇闻》

《湖海奇闻》是明代弘治时期周静轩撰著的一部志怪传奇小说集,但散失于20世纪初。现代学者,除孙楷第先生一睹真容,后人无缘识其面目。《湖海奇闻》实际上还存世四十三篇佚文。

The Collection of Grotesque Fictions of Lakes and Seas was written by Zhou Jingxuan in the Era Hongzhi (弘治)in the Ming Dynasty, and scattered everywhere in the early twenty century. Mr. Sun Kaidi (孙楷第) was the only one of the modern scholars who has been lucky to witness this collection. In reality, there still exist 43 scattered pieces of fictions of this collection.
