Perplexity of Style——Is Maqiao Dictionary novel?

新时期有很多探讨文体变化的文章,但对文体概念的界定又存在许多矛盾之处。我们以《马桥词典》为实例,从故事、结构及文本的基本叙述句型三个方面探讨该作品不属于长篇小说,而是散文集。

There are many theses on style in the New Period. However, there are some contradictions among definitions on style. This paper, taking Maqiao Dictionary as an example, points out from three aspects of story, structrue and basic narrative words that the work is not novel but prose.
