The phase composition,micrographys of surface and fracture, and grain size of NiCrAlY coatings were analyzed by X ray, SEM,TEM. The result showsthat the coatings are mainly composed of β NiAl,the grain is very small and its traversing dimension is about 10 to 100 nm.The coatings exhibit a columnar structure and there are columnar defects. The pattern of their growing is called “Forest Model”.
