The principle for establishing cleaner production index system was identified. The CP index system of plating enterprise was set up from the aspects of raw and auxiliary material, resources, energy sources, pollutant production, products, environmental economic benefit, etc. The evaluation method of CP level and effects for plating enterprise was discussed.
