教育对经济增长贡献的国际比较:基于多变量VAR方法的经验研究

Contribution of Education on Economic Growth: International Comparison Based on the Multi-variable VAR Model

本文通过多变量的VAR框架分析了教育对经济增长的贡献,回答了经济发展程度和教育发展模式的差异与教育对经济增长的贡献程度之间关系的疑问。文中样本包括中低收入的中国,中高收入的巴西,以及高收入国家的美国、英国、日本和加拿大。通过分析本文不仅证实了教育对各国经济的积极影响,证实了教育与产出之间存在双向的因果关系,而且发现了一国经济的发展程度与教育对经济增长的贡献呈现正的非线性相关。

This paper investigates the contribution of education to economic growth with the VAR method. It analizes contribution of education to economic growth. The sample countries we selected include China, Brazil, USA, British, Japan and Canada, which represent the lower income countries, the middle high income countries and the high income countries. From the analysis across these countries, it shows that education has positive and significant influence on economic growth in sample countries, education and output has bi-directional causality relationship, and the return of education to economic growth has non-linear and positive relationship with the economic level of development.
