Teaching civil law by debating is a new method, which is still under research. This method adopts a student-centered mode instead of the traditional teacher-centered one. It is one of the efficient ways for bringing students＇ potential into full play, and for improving students＇ overall ability and quality. This article discusses the basic method and the steps for topic-based teaching by debating, the advantages and aspects that the teacher should pay attention to in the actual practice, with a view to further pushing the development of teaching reform on civil law.
