From her earliest stories and poems through the fictions which mark the height of her career, Willa Cather employed references to the imagery of Graeo - Roman or Christian myth, and created a lot of vivid images of her characters, which have been inspiring the generations to come. Adopting the perspective of the archetype, the paper tries to make a brief analysis of and a comparison between the images of women in O Pioneers ! and Earth Mother, Goddess of Spring so as to have a better understanding of the fiction.
