Locate Imagination in Kant's Epistemology

想象力在康德的认识论中是一个不可或缺的要素,发挥着独特的功能:一方面它把感性和知性这两种必要而又功能各异的认识能力联结起来;另一方面它产生的先验图型又把直观和概念这两种不同的知识要素结合起来,从而使知识得以可能。因此,想象力尤其是生产性的想象力在康德的认识论中占有重要的地位。

In Kant＇s epistemology, imagination is an absolutely necessary, element, which has unique functions. On the one hand, it unites two cognitive abilities, which are necessary but have dissimilar functions ; on the other hand, it brings apriori schemata, which combine two different sciential elements, the intuitionistic and the notional, and therefore make knowledge possible. Accordingly, the imagination, especially the productive imagination, occupies important position in Kant＇ s epistemology.
