English-Chinese Word and Its Translation on the Base of Culturally-loaded Meaning

语言是文化的载体。语言与文化的密切联系决定了翻译与文化有着不可分割的联系。从语言学和跨文化交际学角度出发,对英汉词语的文化内涵与翻译以及英汉语言中的词汇空缺进行探讨。

Language is a vehicle for culture. The close connection between language and culture has determined the inseparable connection between translation and culture. On the basic of sociolinguistics and intercuhural communication, this paper has laid the main emphasis on some typical culturally-loaded words and expressions in English-Chinese translation and some culturally-loaded words lacking in lexical counterparts in bilingual translation.
