公众科学素养高低反映了城市发展潜力.苏州要成为国际新兴科技城市,必须了解目前苏州市公众所具备的科学素养,并研究其发展趋势,制定符合苏州市情的教育、科技、社会发展政策和科普政策,进而不断提高苏州市公众的科学素养,为城市社会经济发展夯实基础.为反映苏州公众科学素养现状,我们在全市范围开展了"苏州市公众科学素养问卷调查".通过调查,了解和掌握苏州市公众具备基本科学素养的比率,对科技知识和科学方法的了解程度,以及公众对国家科学技术政策的看法态度、获取科学技术信息的渠道、手段和方法等情况.
