摘要
MPEG-4 SP(Simple Profile)编码器在嵌入式领域得到了广泛应用,但嵌入式系统通常存储空间有限,ASP(Advanced Simple Profile)编码器则在SP基础上进一步提高了压缩效率。文章介绍了TMS320C6416 DSP和MPEG-4 ASP视频编码器在SP基础上新增的工具,然后详细阐述了基于该平台实现MPEG-4 ASP视频编码器的软件优化方法,最后通过实验结果的比较展现了在嵌入式系统应用中ASP相对于SP编码器的优越性。由此可看出,在存储能力受限的情况下,采用ASP进行MPEG-4视频编码更为适合。
MPEG-4 SP had been greatly applied in embedded fields, such as digital camera, but its storage capacity is always limited. ASP encoder released improved compression efficiency compared with SP encoder. This paper introduces TMS320C6416 DSP and the tools added newly in ASP video encoder based on the SP,then describes the methods of software optimization in detail in MPEG-4 ASP video encoder implementation based on the platform of TMS320C6416 DSP. The experimental results show that the superiority of ASP encoder is over the SP one in the embedded system. From above,it can be seen that ASP is more suitable to the MPEG-4 video encoder when the storage capacity is limited.
