A Survey of Fruiting Characteristics of Plum Trees in Nanjing Area

短果枝长度<3 cm果梅座果率最高,母枝长度为80-120 cm时着生的短果枝最多,但母枝长度与果梅短枝数量以及采果数之间无明显相关关系。果梅的生理落果率与品种特性有关,细叶青低于小梅。这些特性可以作为果梅树整形修剪及栽培管理的参考。

The highest fruit-setting percentage of plum was observed in short fruit branches whose length was less than 3 cm. Number of short fruit branch was the maximum when the length of mother branch was 80-120 cm. However, the relation between mother branch length and numbers of shot spur and fruit-setting was not very significant. According to this investigation the prematuredropping rate of plum fruits was relative to its cultivars, the premature drop degree of Xieyeqin was lighter than that of Xiaomei. These discoveries of plum fruiting characteristics could be a beneficial reference in pruning and management of plum trees.
