The great idea of “building a socialist harmonious society” was put forward in The Fourth Plenary Session of the sixteenth central committee of the CPC. In the process of construction, Confucianism, especially its view on righteousness and personal interests, plays an indispensable, important role. This article focuses on the views of Confucianism, including the conflict between righteousness and interests, treasuring righteousness more than benefits and the Marxist unity of righteousness and interests in building a harmonious society. These views will help the people form the right point of view of benefits and righteousness and serve the construction of a socialist harmonious society.
