Main Theme and Models: Christian Culture and Narrative in Chinese Novels

将《圣经》典故作为小说的文心,用其叙事框架为小说的叙事模型。此法相习成风,成为基督教文化催生中国小说的一种模式,也成为中国小说生成方式的一种。依此模式而成的小说并非皆有基督教宗教意义。基督教文化与中国小说叙事的这种关系从一个侧面显示出中国新小说成长的踪迹。

Examining the relationship between the Christian culture and narrative in Chinese novels,this paper discovers two features: the allusions and references in the Bible become the main theme;and the narrative framework of the biblical allusions becomes the model of narrative in Chinese novels.This is one of the producing modes of Chinese novels.However,Chinese novels based on such a model are not necessarily of Christian implication.The relationship between the Christian culture and narrative in Chinese novels reveal some trace of growth of New Chinese novels from another angle.
