本期《今日视点》的主题是“艺术文献与当代艺术”。艺术史研究离不开文献的搜集和整理．即以文献学的方式方法对艺术创作活动进行系统化和秩序化的梳浚。这种文献学的研究方法在中国古代．尤其是在“乾嘉”时期对儒家典籍的考据、整理活动中．

The subject of “Focus Today” is “Art Documents and Contemporary Art”. Art history research is closely related with the collection and arrangement of documents, that is, making an arrangement of art creation activities systematically and orderly with the means and methods of documentation. This research methods has reached the peak in the ancient China, especially in the activities to research and arrange the classic works of“Qianja School”, but it has not been a method of modern art activities until the late period of “85 New Thoughts”. Since 1990,“Chinese Contemporary Art Research Documents Exhibition”, “Asia Art Documents Storehouse”, planned and founded non-governmentally, have made a preliminary exploration to the historical function of art documents in forms and methods. In the cultural background of that time, with the avant-garde art as its main subject, art documents writing,featured by criticism,retrospection and avant-garde, established a basis for the historical writing and presenting mode of Chinese contemporary art, as a discourse opposed to the political ideology.
