我国基础教育虽经政府和民间共同努力了50多年,至今"双基"仍在攻坚。高等教育数倍于义务教育阶段的经费,高等教育大众化的推进和教育国际化的趋势不断加剧教育质量和数量的发展与教育经费短缺之间的矛盾。加强教育与经济发展之间的联系和深入贯彻"民办教育促进法"是我国教育可持续发展的现实选择。

The more funds invested in higher education than in compulsory education, the advancement of popularization of higher education and the trend of education internationalization are increasingly intensifying the contradiction between the development of education quality and quantity and the shortage of education funds. Strengthening the relation between education and economic development and intensively carrying out the “Laws on the Promotion of Private Education” is the practical choice for the sustainable development of Chinese education.
