Opinions on A Variety of Matters in Relation to Reforms of RMB Exchange Rate

有关人民币汇率问题的争论集中在汇率制度改革和当前人民币是否应该升值两个焦点上。人民币汇率制度改革和汇率调整,是一个国家主权问题,应当首先考虑我国所处的发展阶段,从制度安排和现实情况综合考虑,包括经济发展水平、国际收支以及在国际经济中的地位和影响的变化等因素,服从和服务于国家经济可持续发展的战略。

Debate in relation to RMB exchange rate focuses on two issues： one is exchange rate system, and the other is appropriateness of RMB appreciation at current stage. RMB exchange rate system reforms and exchange rate adjustments are a national sovereignty issue. China＇s current development stage needs to be considered firstly, incorporating factors including system arrangement, practical conditions, economic development level, balance of payment, and changes of international economic positions and influences, subjecting to and serving China＇s sustainable economic growth strategy.
