结合《红楼梦》中平儿所处的社会环境,分析了平儿的性格特征及其命运遭际,认为平儿性情温婉平和,处事圆通睿智,因而能在矛盾重重的大观园里左右逢源,赢得主子和奴仆们的一致称赞。但是,特有的社会地位使她仍然无法挣脱封建社会的桎梏,令其一生不免带有悲剧性意味。

This paper,analyses Pinger＇s character traits and her destiny and encounter according to the social environment described in A Dream of Red Mansions which Pinger lived in. Then,it is presumed that Pinger is such a sweet-tempered,peaceable and smart girl that she can be blessed with good luck all along and gain the unanimous applause from masters and servants. However, because of the special social status Pinger cannot get rid of the shackles of the feudal society,which leads to her tragic life.
