“英语至上”主义受到全社会普遍怀疑,大学英语教育步入应试误区。无论从经济学、教育学还是文化学、社会学角度看,过分地重英语轻母语都是得不偿失的,危险的。已经公布的四、六级考试改革方案,治标不治本,难以革除积弊。取消全国大学英语四、六级统考,改变研究生招考英语“一票否决”格局,取消职称晋升的英语统考,加强外语学院专业英语人才培养,把汉语写作列为大学公共基础课及研究生招生必考科目,才有望从根本上降低英语考试的社会权重。

The doctrine “English first” has been doubted widespread in all society, and the college English education has mistaken the test for all. From the point of economics, pedagogy, culture or sociology, it is dangerous and worthless to make English important excessively while make light of the mother tongue. The reform project of the college English test band four and six, which had been announced, is not a real cure for the education abuse. We must give up the college English test band four and six, reform the structure of “one ticket vote” in the graduate student entrance examination, cancel the English test in promotion test, enhance the work of training the special talents by the foreign language college, list the Chinese as the college public and foundation course and the necessary course in the graduate student entrance examination. Maybe the hopes that lower the social heavy power of the English test root and branch can be fulfilled.
