Situated in Jingjiang Wangcheng （Prince Mansion of Ming Dynasty）, Duxiu Peak （Solitary Beauty Peak） is famous worldwide for its fascinating scenery as well as rich historical and cultural remains. Stone carvings can be found everywhere from the foot to the top of the Peak. Known as the “Pillar of South Heaven”, the Peak enjoys a supreme position among all the mountains and hills in Guilin. In ancient times, it was the first choice for numerous literati and scholars to ascend for a bird＇s eye view of the city. Therefore, Duxiu Peak not only reflects Chinese culture and history, but also tells people the transformation of education of Guilin, a city with long history and unique culture. For people who have been the Peak, it is the embodiment of truth, goodness and beauty, and the emblem of such human natures as persistence, uprightness and integrity.
