建安诗歌在创作上的特点主要表现为:在题材选择上注重反映时代的苦难,真实地描绘出董卓之乱和军阀混战所造成的巨大的社会灾难,许多作品具有重要的史料价值;其主题表达既有对民生苦难的关注,也有对命运无常、人生苦短的嗟叹,又有对建功立业、名垂后世的向往,表现出对人生的价值关怀;其诗歌体式,既有四言、五言,也有六言、七言和杂言,既有古体诗,也有乐府诗,而五言诗占的比例最大;其艺术手法,既有借鉴,也有创新,而创新则是最主要的方面,表现出追求艺术完美的创新意识。

The mainly creating characteristics of Jian＇an poetry are as follows：The topics reflect the misery of times,discribing objectively the social suffering from Dongzhou＇s confusion and wars among warlords,so a great many works are valuable for historical material. The topics not only care for peoples＇ hardness,sigh for the hardness and shortness of life,the irregular hess of fortune, but also look forward to making a contribution and going down in history, showing the concern for the value of life. The form of poetry contains pre-Tang poetry and yuefu songs, four-character, five-character, six-character, seven-character and mixed-character, while the percentage of five-character is the highest the art mothed is mainly creative and also borrowing, showing being after perfection in art.
