陶行知作为一个有改造中国远大抱负的教育家,他对近代中国的关注并不局限于教育领域,他对近代中国科学事业的发展也极为重视。20世纪建成一个科学的中国是他改造中国社会的科学理想。为此,他主张辩证认识科学,既要发挥科学的积极作用,又要注重培养科学伦理。他提倡科学大众化,注重培养科学幼苗。
