Jointly funded by MOST, CAS and the Beijing Municipality, the project is carried out by the CAS Institute of Remote Sensing Applications. Its overall objectives are, by using multi-phase and high-resolution telemetric data supported by a global positioning system （GPS）, a geographical information system （GIS） and a virtual simulation system, a threeyear dynamic monitoring will be made on the construction of the major Olympic venues and their surrounding environment.
