Strategies Dealing With the Problem of "Mixed" English Pronunciation

中国英语学习者普遍存在着英国英语和美国英语语音混杂的现象,“混杂式”英语语音问题的产生有诸多原因;了解英国英语和美国英语在语调、单词重音、单词读音和节奏速度方面的典型差异,建立正确的语音观念,注重教材选择的统一性和连续性,是克服“混杂式”英语语音的基本策略。

Chinese English learners often combine British English pronunciation and American English pronunciation together. There are various reasons leading to the problem of “mixed” English pronunciation in China. The basic strategy to cope with the problem is to know clearly about the typical differences of pronunciation between British English and American English in such aspects as intonation, word stress, word pronunciation, rhythm and speed. In addition, establishing scientific concept of pronunciation and textbook selection also contribute to the solution of the problem.
