Spinal ozone injection in the treatment of low back pain

摘要 腰背痛的治疗手段多样。臭氧是一种强氧化剂,它本身还具有很强的抗菌和镇痛作用。利用这个特点,在影像学的辅助下,将臭氧注射到椎间盘内,氧化髓核蛋白多糖,并使髓核分子脱水和萎缩,能有效将椎间盘内的压力降低,缓解腰痛症状。该技术操作安全、简便,费用低廉,效果确切,是一种极有发展前途的微创治疗方法。 Low back pain due to herniated disc with nerve root impingement is a common pain problem and there are many minimally invasive interventional therapies. In the past decade intraspinal ozone injected into the disc and around the nerve root has been introduced into clinical practice. Ozone is a potent oxidizing agent with antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive properties. Under radiographic visualization by C-arm fluoroscopy or CT, ozone can be accurately and safely injected into the selected disc and cause nucleolysis resulting in dehydration and shrinkage of the disc. Furthermore periradicular injection of ozone provides an anti-inflammatory effect on the nerve root. The therapeutic success rate in pain relief is about 70%-80%, which is quite comparable to other percutaneous intervention therapies, but with remarkably few complication or adverse effects. This relatively new therapy offers the advantage of being simple, economical, easy to perform and safe; its use should be further explored.
