On the Earthquakes Occurring Directly Beneath Big Cities and the Countermeasures from Earthquakes in Japan

以日本典型地震为例,介绍了城市“直下型”地震的概念、特点,并举例说明了此类地震的震害。阐述了该类型地震的发生与断层及强震动的相互关系,提出预防及救灾救助措施。

Taking the typical earthquakes in Japan as an example, this paper describes the concept and characteristics ot the earthquakes occurring directly beneath big cities and exemplifies the disasters of such earthquakes. And the relationship between such earthquakes and faults and strong earthquakes is illustrated. Lastly some suggestions on how to prevent the earthquakes occurring directly beneath big cities and on how to provide disaster relief or succor after the earthquake are also proposed.
