The Significance of Promoting Chinese Tourism and Its Development Path

随着我国人民物质生活水平的不断提高,旅游业在国民经济中的地位愈加重要,主要体现在:1.旅游产业的产业关联度不断增强,带动经济社会发展的效应日渐显著;2.大力发展旅游产业可以有效地增加就业人口;3.旅游产业的发展可以提高区域经济发展水平,缩小不同地区间发展差距;4.发展旅游产业有利于实现社会经济的可持续发展;5.旅游业是增加外汇收入、平衡国际收支的重要途径。但是,总体来看,目前我国的旅游业发展还很不充分,突出的问题是旅游的产业化特征与目前行业环节分散的局面形成了矛盾。为此,必须做好以下几方面的工作:第一,政府部门要发挥好旅游产业化过程中的宏观引导与组织作用;第二,成立行业大协会,促进旅游产业的规范与协调发展;第三,应当特别重视中西部地区和少数民族地区旅游产业的发展。

With the improvement of the Chinese people＇s life, tourism is playing an increasingly important role in national economy, This can be explained through the following aspects： 1） the industrial relevance for tourism is being increased and the stimulus for economic and social development is substantial; 2） it can create more employment opportunities; 3） it can upgrade regional economic development and narrow regional development gap; 4） it can help to promote social and economic sustainable development; 5） it can increase foreign currency earnings and maintain foreign exchange balance. Generally speaking, however, the tourism sector in China is not fully developed and the bottleneck is the contradiction between its industralization model and decentralized structure. Therefore, the government should play a functional role in providing overall guidance and organizational support, set up industrial associations through standardization and coordination and give priority to the development of the sector in the central and western areas and the regions inhabited by ethnic groups.
