Trifluoromethyl group was effectively introduced into various compounds by trifluoromethylation reagent. Thus, the biological activity and special function of those compounds were enhanced. And the trifluoromethylation compounds were widely used in agricultural pesticide, medicament, material and dye. The developments in research of new-type trifluoromethylation reagent and the various methodologies of trifluoromethylation in recent years were reviewed. And the research orientation of trifluoromethylation was dicussed.
