It was announced at the press conference held in Beijing on July 1, 2005 that the Nigerian Communications Satellite （NIGCOMSAT-1） to be exported to Nigeria by China had achieved another key milestone by successfully completing the Preliminary Design Review （PDR） phase for the satellite and its control facilities. The design review demonstrated that contract requirements for the PDR were fully achieved.
