临济故里考略

On the Hometown of Linji

临济是我国唐代高僧,释迦牟尼38代传人,世界佛教临济宗之开山鼻祖,信徒遍天下。史籍皆载临济故里在曹州南华,但唐代曹州南华在今何处,需确指地望。作者通过查阅资料和实地考察得出结论,唐代曹州即今山东省菏泽市,曹州南华即今菏泽市牡丹区李庄集。

Linji was an outstanding monk of Tang Dynasty. He was the 38th successor of Sakya-muni and the anceseer of the Buddist of the world. His students were spreaded all over the world. According to the historic documents the hometown of Linji is in Nanhua,Caozhou. But where is this place located nowadays？ It meeds in vest igation. The author came to a conclulcon by looking for materials and investigations by themselves . The Caozhou of Tang Dynasty is in Heze, Shandong Province and Nanhua, Caozhou is Li Zhuang Town, Peony Area of Heze City.
