Jiang Shuojie’s Exchange Rate Theory and its Inspiration to Chinese Mainland

蒋硕杰先生系台湾著名的经济学家,也被赞誉为全球六大杰出的华裔经济学家之一。他在货币与汇率制度等方面的颇多建树对台湾20世纪50年代和80年代两次经济自由化和台湾经济起飞起了重要的推动作用。而他关于外汇储备和汇率制度选择的论述对今天中国大陆的经济政策也具有重要的指导意义。

Mr Jiang Shuojie is a famous economist from Taiwan, he is also known as one of the six outstanding economists with Chinese origin all over the world. Many his contributions to the currency and exchange rate system has accelerated the two liberalizations of Taiwan economy in 1950s and 1980s, it also played an important role in the takeoff of Taiwan Economy. Even today, his theory about foreign exchange storage and the choice of exchange rate system is instructive to the economic policy of Chinese Mainland.
