THE nine-person CIPG delegation to Xinjiang last June caught just a glimpse of what Xinjiang has to offer-to the traveler, the investor and the anthropologist, not to mention the archeologist. We went to westernmost Kashi and northernmost Altay, two regions that epitomize all that is culturally fascinating and scenically spellbinding about Xinjiang.
