Liu Shipei’s Comments on Debates of Pre-Qin Script and Official Script in Han Dynasty

刘师培是晚清很有影响的经学大家,在经学研究领域成绩斐然。他对汉代经学的出现及其内部的分野有独到的认识。刘认为古今文之争实为利益之争,并不存冰炭不相融,从汉初今文家不废古文、今古文同出一源、今古文学兴衰的内在理路三个层面分析汉代经学的演变。

Liushipei was a very influential master with fruitful achievements on study of Confucian Classics in late Qing Dynasty. He had distinguished recognition on the dividing line among scholars in Han dynasty. He believed that the debates between pre-Qin script and official script were made due to group interests. Liu analyzed the development of Confucian Classics study in Han dynasty in three aspects： Han scholars didn＇t abolish ancient Confucian Classics; pre-Qin script and official script were from same sources and the rise and decline Ancient Confucian Classics and Han＇s study;
