Orientation of Sports in the Course of Building up a Well-off Society in an All-round Way

体育作为文化现象,被列为全面建设小康社会的具体文化目标之中。十六大报告中所指出的“积极推进卫生体育事业的改革和发展,开展全民健身运动,提高全民健康水平,努力办好2008年奥运会”为体育事业在全面建设小康社会进程中的发展指明了前进的方向和奋斗目标。对我们正确认识体育事业在全面建设小康社会中的定位,深化体育事业的改革,协调“两个战略”的发展,提高全民健康水平,促进人的全面发展都有着十分重要的意义。

As a cultural phenomenon, sports is included in building the specific cultural goal of well-off society in an all-around way. The report of the 16th National Congress points out that the objective of development of sports is to take vigorous action to expand the medical and sports, to carry out the people＇s sports activities, to improve the general level of the people＇ s health and to host the 2008 Olympic Games successfully. It also points out the direction of advance and the goal of struggle for sports. It is of significance for us not only to understand the orientation of sports correctly and deepen the reform of sports, but also to coordinate the development of“the two strategies”and to improve general level of the people＇s health and all-round development.
