马克思主义文化理论认为,文化是社会的经济和政治的反映,具有多方面功能,精神文明是人类文明的重要组成部分,为物质文明提供精神动力和智力支持。文化在生产力落后的条件下是由少数人占有的,文化大众化是社会进步的要求与结果,科学技术是文化大众化的重要手段。历史向世界历史的转变过程包含着民族文化的公共化,社会主义文化要大胆吸收和借鉴人类社会创造的一切文明成果,各国文明的多样性是人类文明的动力。

In the cultural theory of Marxism, culture is the reflection of economy and politics, and it has many functions. The Spiritual civilization is an important component in the human civilization. It supplies the material civilization with moral and intellectual force. In the backward conditions of productive force, culture is owned by a small number of people, so the mass culture reflects the demand and result of social progress. Science and technology play an important role in the mass culture. The changing process from national history to world history contains the dissemination of national culture; therefore socialism must boldly assimilate and make use of the civilization of all human societies. The diversity in national cultures is the motive force of human civilization.
