This paper introduced the serious corrosion problems of the high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle of the U.S army. The basic reasons are not only no analysis of life cycle cost during designing, selecting suitable material and production technology, but also abandon necessary corrosion and control methods for outing down the purchase expenses.
