Some Examples of Correcting the Characters of the Tang Dynasty Epitaphs

墓志具有重要研究价值。本文以唐代墓志为例,阐述了墓志文字校勘易讹的三种情形:不明俗字致误例,形体相似致误例,不明典故造成文字讹误例。

Although the epitaphs have much value for research, there are still some character mistakes in the inscriptions. Based on the Tang Dynasty epitaphs, the paper points out three kinds of mistakes. These mistakes result from the confusing of the characters in folk form, the confusing of the similar characters＇ form and the confusing of the allusion knowledge.
