On the Influences of Wang Chuan-shan on Xiong Shi-li

现代新儒家的主要开创者之一熊十力,无论在人生道路的选择上还是在思想路向的确定上都深受王船山其人其学的影响。船山思想既引导他参加革命,又促使他从革命转向“革心”,决志学术;而在学术上,则促使他最终由佛归儒,并以继承“船山之志”、发挥船山精神为终身职志。梳理王船山对熊十力的影响,不仅有助于更准确地把握熊氏思想的形成与发展,亦可显示船山学术在中国近现代思想史上所发挥的重要作用。

Xiong Shi-li, one of the primary inaugurators of the modern Neo-Confucianism, was deeply influenced by Wang Chuan-shan both in choosing his life style and making his certain thinking orientation. It was Wang Chuan-shan＇s thought that led Xiong Shi-li to joining the revolution and turning to philosophical study, which finally veered him from Buddhism to Confucianism. Furthermore this inherited and developed Wang Chuan-shan＇s thought and spirit. Analyzing these influences would help to comprehend Xiong Shi-li＇s thought more profoundly, and reveal the significant effect of Wang Chuan-shan＇s thought in the modern ideological history of China.
