This article mainly describes the present status of the medium and heavy plate production line and problems existing in roughing mill in Jinan Iron and Steel Group Corp. with key points placed on the idea for modifying the roughing mill,and explains the necessity and feasibility of modifying into 4 300 mm fourhigh roughing mill.
