西部地区社会经济的发展已经到了一个新的阶段,随之也给十分脆弱的生态环境带来巨大的压力。文章首先从环境退化、自然灾害、环境污染和植被破坏四个方面分析了西部地区生态环境现状;在第二部分从西部区域经济发展滞后四个方面等分析了西部生态危机症结所在;最后得出结论,可持续发展—西部地区开发的永恒命题。

The development of the social economy in the western region has already reached a new stage, at the same time, it brings the enormous pressure to very fragile ecological environment. The article degradates the ecological environment current situation of the western regionetc from environment, natural calamity, environmental pollution and vegetation destroy. In second part, it analyses the very crux of western ecocrisis, finaly, the article draws the conclusion, sustainable development is the eternal proposition developed in western region finally.
