EDITOR’S NOTE: On the eve of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Tibet Autonomous Region, we interviewed Radi, Vice-Chairman of the PRC National People’s Congress. The former Tibetan leader, who himself experienced the events surrounding the founding of the TAR, provides a vivid description of the enormous changes that have taken place over the past 40 years since the founding of the TAR, and how the Central Government decided on this action.
