WiMAX存在的问题与未来的发展方向

摘要 WiMAX可以为大范围内的大量用户提供高带宽的无线语音和数据业务,具有巨大的商业价值。但是,当前的WiMAX技术大多基于传统系统,没有考虑WMAN对大容量需求的特殊性和系统的快速发展。本文首先概述了WiMAX的最新研究动态——IEEE802.16-2004标准的物理层和介质接入控制层的技术特点,分析探讨了WiMAX技术当前存在的问题,并在此基础上介绍和评价了WiMAX的各种性能增强技术和扩展方案。 IEEE 802.16 wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) standard WiMAX promises to deliver high-bandwidth wireless voice and data to a large number of users over large areas, and is with tremendous commercial value. But most of the present technologies are based on the conventional systems and do not consider the specificity of the large capacity demand and the fast expanding networks. First, the technical characteristics of the physical layer and the media access control layer of IEEE standard 802.16-2004 are reviewed. Then, this article discusses and analyzes the current problems of WiMAX. Finally, the survey and evaluation of some enhanced technologies and scalable mechanisms are presented.
