Relationship of MMP-2mRNA Expression with Clinical pathological Features and Prognosis in Gastric Cancer

目的探讨胃癌组织基质金属蛋白酶-2(MMP-2)mRNA表达与胃癌临床病理及预后的关系。方法RT-PCR方法检测67例胃癌患者癌组织及癌旁≥5cm组织MMP-2mRNA的表达,生存分析采用Kaplan-Meier方法。结果67例胃癌组织及癌旁5cm组织MMP-2mRNA阳性表达分别为31及19例,差异均有显著性;胃癌组织MMP-2mRNA表达与肿瘤有无淋巴结转移(分别为61.9%及39.1%)有显著相关;MMP-2mRNA阳、阴性表达者平均生存时间(分别为30.41月及46.51月)差异无显著性。结论MMP-2在胃癌发生、侵袭和转移过程中可能发挥重要作用,但MMP-2mRNA表达可能不能作为判断胃癌预后的独立指标。

Objective To explore the relationship of matrix metalloproteinase-2 mRNA （MMP-2mRNA） expression with clinical pathological features and prognosis in human gastric cancer. Methods RT-PCR was used to detect MMP-2mRNA expression of tumor tissues and adjacent tissues （ ≥ 5cm） from 67 patients with gastric cancer. Data was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method. Results The positive expression of MMP-2mRNA in carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues （31 vs 19） and had close relationship with lymphnode metastasis （61.9 % ）. But Kaplan-Meier analysis showed no differences in average survival time between different expressions of MMP-2mRNA. Conclusion MMP-2 plays an important role in tumor formation, invasion and metastasis in gastric cancer, but MMP-2mRNA expression may not be an independent index of the prognosis.
