IPTV是什么？从字面上看，IPTV就是IP与TV两大领域相结合的产物，是一个“混血儿”。因此不同背景的人对IPTV就有不同的诠释，广电背景的人认为IPTV是利用了IP技术的TV业务，电信背景的人认为IPTV是基于IP多媒体的电信增值业务。但无论如何，有一点是无容质疑的，那就是IPTV将为宽带产业的发展创造巨大的机遇。我国宽带接入正处在高速成长期，截至2005年6月，宽带接入用户数已达3000万，而利用宽带上网的用户数已达5000万，占到了网民总数的一半，
What＇s IPTV？ Literally, IPTV means integration of two major fields - IP and TV, a kind of “mixed-blood”. Therefore, people of different background have different interpretation for IPTV, people of radio and TV background believe IPTV is TV business using IP technology, people of telecom background believe IPTV is IP multimedia-based telecom value-added business. However, one point is undoubted, i.e. IPTV will create huge opportunity for development of broadband industry.
