由各级政府重点扶持、在全国范围内实施、为期17年的“中国民族民间文化保护工程”于2004年全面启动。它是落实科学发展观,维护我国文化主权和文化安全,繁荣社会主义先进文化的战略决策。民族民间文化的人为破坏和自然灭绝,唤醒了人类的保护意识。由政府主导的保护工程应做到科学抢救、有效保护、促进传承、合理开发。随着全社会全民族民间文化保护意识的增强,文化生态环境将会大有改观,中华民族精神将会得到全面传承。

For the pivotal support by governments at all levels, the Chinese National Folk Culture Protection Project was launched in 2004 within the whole country in seventeen years＇ time. This project is a strategic decision-making to fulfill scientific development outlook, to maintain China＇ s cultural dominion and safety and to flourish in Socialist advanced culture. Human＇ s destruction and natural extinction in national folk culture awakened people＇s preservative awareness. This project guided by the government should adhere to scientific salvage, effective protection, promotive succeeding and rational development. Along with strengthening culture protective awareness, cultural ecological environment will be bettered a lot and the Chinese national spirit will surely be succeeded completely.
