拾遗官肩负着议政重任,但豪言直谏往往成为拾遗官屡受打击和迫害的原因之一。陈子昂服阕后任右拾遗,直言极谏以图报效,却于东都任右拾遗连遭挫折,给其仕途和心灵造成了巨大的影响,后被迫归隐。归隐后的诗作也由单纯的歌颂道家隐逸游仙思想而更多融入"忧时感世" 之叹。

Shi Yi, the name of an official position in history, played an important role in discussing and passing the resolution in the administration, who therefore was often attacked or persecuted with too much criticism. Chen Zi＇ang was appointed as ShiYi. He took it as an opportunity for fulfilling his responsibilities. However he suffered from frustration and setbacks, which had negative affection on his heart and soul; So he had to seclude and the thought in his pomes was more sentimental with complaints as well as sadness than that of traditional Taoists＇ poems.
