简要介绍了空间信息技术及其发展趋势，分析了空间信息技术在国家公共卫生信息化框架中的定位，详细介绍了空间信息技术在公共卫生基础数据获取、疾病监测分析研究、卫生突发事件应急机制辅助决策中的应用进展。研究认为空间信息技术已经成为公共卫生领域研究的新方法和新思路。最后，以“国家SARS控制与预警地理信息系统”为例，深入展现了GIS在SARS控制和预警中发挥的重大作用。

First, a brief introduction to spatial information technology and its development tendency, then analyzes the orientation of spatial information technology in national public sanitation information framework, examines in detail the application development of spatial information technology in public sanitation fundamental data acquisition, disease supervision ＆ analysis research and application development of auxiliary decision making in emergency response mechanism dealing with incidence in public sanitation. This research draws the conclusion that spatial information technological has become a new method and approach in public sanitation field research. In the end. the author takes the “National SARS Control and Vigilance Geographic lnformation System” as an example, disptays vividly the important application of GIS in SARS control and vigilance applications.
