一种改进的网格模型简化算法

摘要 网格模型的简化对于提高计算机的处理速度、存储容量、传输速率、实时显示等有重要的意义.论文在对G arland的“二次误差度量”算法深入研究的基础上,提出该算法会导致局部区域过度简化及狭长三角形的产生等不足,分析原因并进行了改进,在此基础上提出了新的算法,最后,通过试验证明了新算法的有效性. Mesh simplification plays a significant role in the improvement of the processing speed of complex-3D models. A careful.study of the Garland's quadric error metric algorithm makes it clear that there are some shortcomings in this algorithm. Causes Of these shortcomings are analyzed and an improved algorithm is developed. The effectiveness of the new algorithm is proved by experiments.
